What buying a bonus actually costs

Bonus buy skips the base game: you pay a multiple of your stake — usually between 60x and 100x — and go straight into free spins. On a $1 stake, a 100x buy costs $100 and delivers the feature immediately.

The honest framing is that you are not getting a discount. Studios price the buy so that its RTP is close to the base game's, sometimes a fraction higher, and you are compressing hours of base spins into one purchase. The variance goes through the roof: a hundred dollars either returns a multiple or returns very little, with far less in between.

When it makes sense

• You want to see a specific feature and value the time more than the variance.
• Your bankroll is sized in buy-count, not spin-count — five buys minimum, ideally more.
• The title's buy RTP is published and at least as high as its base RTP.

When it does not
