What the boxes are

Lootboxes are the gamified layer on top of the reward system: you earn boxes through play, level-ups and promotions, then open them for free spins, bonus credit or cash. Reading the value honestly

A box has a prize table and a distribution. The headline prize is the one advertised; the median prize is the one you will actually get, and those two numbers are usually far apart. That is the design — it is the same psychology that makes the mechanic contentious in video games.

The saving grace here is that boxes are earned rather than bought. A free box with a skewed distribution is still free value. The moment a box costs money, the question becomes whether the expected contents beat spending the same amount directly, and usually they do not.

Check what falls out

Spins from a box arrive with the same conditions as any other bonus spin: a fixed stake, and winnings credited as bonus funds carrying a wagering requirement.
